The head of the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office , Gergely Gouyash, ironically welcomed the recognition by French President Emmanuel Macron of the fact that American gas in the United States is much cheaper than in Europe, recalling that representatives of the Hungarian government have repeatedly noted this fact. It is reported by RIA Novosti .
“We can welcome [ Macron ’s ] statement with ‘Good morning!’,” Gouyash said.
He noted that over the past months it has been repeatedly discussed that there is no such member of the government who would not say that the problem is not only that prices are very high, and that the domestic sector of the Hungarian industry has to cope with this, but also that that states compete in the global world market with enterprises that receive raw materials several times cheaper, for example, in the United States.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said at a press conference following the EU summit in Brussels that the sale of gas by the United States to Europe at 3-4 times more expensive than it costs in the American domestic market indicates a policy of double standards.
