26-year-old Russian striker of Avangard Omsk Sergey Tolchinsky will miss the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, as he was not included in the extended squad of the Russian national team. This was reported by the publication “Sport-Express”.

In the current season of the Kontinental Hockey League 2021/22, Sergei Tolchinsky scored 27 (5+22) points in thirty games. Earlier, Sergei Tolchinsky was recognized as the most valuable player in the Gagarin Cup 2021.

Before Avangard, Sergei Tolchinsky defended the colors of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, Charlotte Checkers, Carolina Hurricanes, CSKA and Zvezda.

The Beijing 2022 Olympic Games will begin on February 9 and run until February 20. At the group stage, the Russian team will meet with the teams of the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Denmark.
