Bomb found in Indian market ahead of Republic Day

An improvised explosive device, which was planted in one of the markets in the east of the Indian capital of New Delhi, was found and neutralized by Indian police officers. This was reported on January 14 by India Today.

The weight of the bomb was 1.5 kg. It was in a bag and could be activated using a mobile phone. The police noted that the device was planted on the eve of India’s national holiday – Republic Day, which is celebrated on January 26.

The authorities also believe that if the criminals succeeded in carrying out their plans, the explosion could lead to numerous casualties and significant destruction.

As reported IA REGNUM, On August 5, a homemade bomb exploded on a bus in the state of Chhattisgarh in central India. One person died and 11 others were injured in the incident.
