The Border Department of the FSB of Russia in Krasnodar informs about the entry into force of the verdict of the Adler District Court of Sochi, according to which two Russian citizens born in 1997 and 1996 were found guilty of committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 229.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Earlier, these persons arrived at the Adler checkpoint with the intention to proceed from the Russian Federation to the Republic of Abkhazia. The men had a travel bag with them, in which there was a shampoo container, inside which the Border Guard officers found 245 bundles with a light gray crystalline substance, wrapped in black insulating tape. According to the results of the examination, the crystalline substance contained the narcotic drug methadone (Denafon, Dolophine) weighing 83.14 grams.
By a court verdict, a 25-year-old man was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 12 years and 2 months, a 26-year-old man was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 10 years and 1 month. The men will serve their sentences in a strict regime colony.
