The Russian Post, together with the China Post, has launched regular direct flights on its own main cargo aircraft TU-204C from the Chinese city of Zhengzhou to Vnukovo Airport. The weekly flight will deliver up to 23 tons of postal cargo.

The use of its own aircraft gives the Russian Post the opportunity to ensure the stability of transportation, independently control logistics and delivery volumes on routes, regardless of the schedule of other air carriers. Own aircraft also make it possible to regulate and direct mail flows across regions. As a result, this helps to speed up the processing of goods and reduce delivery times.

The new flight from China to Moscow will carry ePacket class items. This is an expedited type of delivery from online stores in China. Inside China, ePacket shipments are delivered by EMS China, they quickly pass through the country and are sent for import. Russian Post aircraft TU-204S deliver them directly to Vnukovo airport.

The logistics center of the Russian Post is located in close proximity to the airport. Thanks to this, all parcels quickly pass through customs control and clearance, and then get sorted to the addresses for delivery. This significantly reduces the time for processing and transporting shipments.

“Russian Post is constantly working on optimizing its own supply chains in order to deliver shipments to customers faster. The new flight from Zhengzhou will help us speed up the delivery of goods from Chinese online stores. If the destination turns out to be in demand, perhaps in the future we will be able to increase the number of flights to 3-4 per week,” – said Georgy Bautin, head of the department of air transport management of the Russian Post.
