Responding to the requests of several Colombian and foreign interested parties, the National Infrastructure Agency announced this Friday that it will extend the closure of the bidding process of the PPP of the Magdalena River by June 16, 2022, in order to allow bidders to finish preparing their bids.
In a communication, the ANI stated that after this stage will give way to the adjudication of the process and signing of the contractwhich will be ready during the present administration.
He explained that for the National Government it is essential to attend to the different requests of potential bidders and guarantee the time necessary for them to finish preparing their bidsin a project that will have investments estimated at 1.53 billion pesos.
The initiative seeks to recover the navigability of the Magdalena Riverwith the intervention of 668 kilometers between Bocas de Ceniza in Barranquilla) and Barrancabermeja (Santander).
According to the structuring process, the pre-construction period for the Magdalena River PPP will be 13 months and the 4.5 year construction. It is estimated that the concession will have a period of 15 years and 6 months.
