Astana confirmed minutes later that the Colombian had suffered a “left hip injury” in recent days, a situation that he himself Superman lamented through social networks.

“I came with a discomfort that was not possible to recover, I did my best to continue, but that’s life and cycling. Thank you Giro d’Italia so darling. I will return recovered to give my best. Team the best energy to continue in the battle”, wrote the Colombian cyclist after confirming his withdrawal from the first big of the season.
