The Colombian Santiago Buitrago lost the leadership of Tour of Burgosafter a good shot from the French Pavel Shivakov during the third stage of the race, which meant second place for the day and move on to command the general classification.

Sivakov went to the front with 13.3 kilometers to go along with his compatriot Bastien Tronchon, ending the test with a difference of 28″ over the main pack.

In that group came the Bogota cyclist from Bahrain Victorious, crossing the finish line in seventh place, along with his compatriot Stephen Chavez, of EF Education-Easy Post.

Santiago Buitrago is now second in the general classification, 23″ behind the French rider of Ineos; while Ruben Guerrero is third at 26″. Chaves continues to climb in the general classification, where is now sixth to 28″.

The Colombian cyclists will have two more days to seek to recover the leadership of the race. Stage 4 and 5 end with a climb finish, the last one being the most demanding with a mountain pass definition out of category.
