Refugees Ukraine Russia Third World War: Number of Ukrainian refugees exceeds 5.9 million | International
More than 5.9 million people have left Ukraine since Russia launched on February 24 military offensiveaccording to a balance updated this Tuesday by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), who fears that the figure will even exceed 8 million in the coming weeks.

Poland, with 3.2 million refugees, is the country with the most arrivals to date, ahead of Romania (884,000), Hungary (573,000), Moldova (457,000) and Slovakia (404,000). UNHCR has another 739,000 registered refugees in Russia, although local authorities say there are more than a million.
The number of refugees adds to the 7.7 million displaced interns, that is, people who have been forced to leave their homes, but remain within Ukraine.
