As part of the commemoration of the Bogotá River Day, the Attorney General’s Office asked the Aqueduct Company (EAAB) and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Cundinamarca (CAR) for a report on the progress of the construction of the Phase 2 Salitre Waste Treatment Plants. and Canoes, which will work to decontaminate the tributary.
For the control entity the development of the works and subsequent execution, are set as a guide through the document requested to comply with sentence 4.35 and that in this, it is counted not only of the utility to decontaminate the river, but also to establish the number of benefited people.
Particularly with the Canoas WWTP, the Attorney General’s Office warns that, Although the modification of the environmental license for its construction and operation was granted, there is still no knowledge of the procedures and actions that both the CAR and the EAAB must comply with to carry out that purpose.
Likewise, the Attorney convened a table of technical experts and socio-environmental of the EAAB, CAR and the Universidad del Rosario, who socialized about the hydraulic adaptation work that will be carried out in Cajicá and Villapinzón, which is where the upper basin of the Bogotá River is located. This technical meeting had the participation of inhabitants of the aforementioned municipalities.
