New Peru coach: Juan Reynoso announced as Ricardo Gareca’s replacement in Peru | Sports

A Peruvian man John Reynoso will assume the technical direction of the Inca team in replacement of the Argentine Ricardo Garecareported on Tuesday the Football Federation of that country.

“Juan Reynoso is the new coach of our Peruvian National Team with the goal set in the 2026 World Cup. Welcome Juan Maximo“, indicated the FPF on Twitter.

Reynoso will lead Peru for the next 4 years, with a view to the South American qualifier for the 2026 World Cup, which will be organized by Canada, the United States and Mexico. His official presentation as DT of the Inca team will be on Wednesday, announced the FPF.

The 52-year-old coach will replace Ricardo Gareca, that took Peru to the 2018 World Cup in Russia after an absence of 36 years in the World Cup but could not qualify for Qatar 2022 after losing last June in the playoff against Australia.

Gareca directed the Inca team from 2015 to 2022 and also managed to take her to the final of the Copa América in Brazil-2019, in which she lost with the locals.

Juan Reynoso, champion in Peru with Universitario and Melgar and in Mexico with Cruz Azul in 2021, he was a Peruvian international on 84 occasions.
