At the age of 87 he died Giovanni del Colle Russo, an experienced Italian chocolatier who came to Colombia in the 1970s to become a hero among candy fans. His star creation was ‘Nucita’, a popular two-flavor cream that is still all the rage among Colombians.

The Italian was experiencing health complications at his residence in the city of Tulua, in the department of Cauca’s Valleywhere he lived with his family.

This is how things are, since he arrived from Turina city located north of Italya Colombia to enter the candy industry in the South American country, he became a hero to the sweet lovers.

Del Colle Russo He settled in Valle del Cauca in the 1970s, already an expert in chocolates. In fact, he came to the country to advise the Colombina candy company on the creation of new sweets.

During the 20 years he worked for the company, his main creation was the Nucita, a cream with two flavors —walnuts and chocolate— and two colors that is sold in various formats. One of the most original and acclaimed by children are the small pots of 14 grams.

Luz Marina Isaziga Lozano, his wife, remembers that her plans changed when she fell in love not only with the company but with Colombia in general. She finally lived in Cauca’s Valley the next 50 years.
