presidential candidate Gustavo Petro referred to the decision of the Attorney General’s Office to suspend the mayor of Medellín, Daniel Quintero for alleged participation in politics. On her social networks, Petro asked to “defend the popular vote.”
“Coup d’état in Medellin. I ask all citizens and the @IACHR to defend the popular vote. The Attorney General’s Office cannot evade the popular mandate,” Petro said on social media.
And he added “A fascist prosecutor already suspended me as mayor and the ruling of the @IACHR was blunt: an administrative body cannot suspend the effects of the citizen vote. The prosecutor, seeking to help Duque’s presidential candidate, has broken the American Convention”.
Senator Wilson Arias also spoke in the Historical Pact: “Attorney Hair has just suspended Mayor @QuinteroCalle for the video he posted. @IvanDuque has done terrible things, even using the intelligence of the State to campaign, and there it continues. It’s not justice, it’s revenge.”
