Wisloski and Southern Columbia got back on track with a 42-7 victory over Trinity. Wisloski had 13 carries for 145 yards and will look to lead the Tigers to their sixth straight state title against the undefeated Westinghouse on Friday.
(11/25) Wisloski and Southern Columbia dominated their quarterfinal matchup with a 42-14 victory over Bishop Guilfoyle. Wisloski had another phenomenal night. He finished with 13 carries for 113 yards and two touchdowns. He also came up with a great defensive play when he stripped down his running back and proceeded to carry it 75 yards for a touchdown. This took them to the state semifinals in a matchup with Trinity.
Mykel Morman – DB, Dr. Henry A Wise Jr. (MD.) (11/26) Wise and Morman lost in the state semifinals to Flowers 20-13 to end their season.
Tayvon Nelson – DB, Canarsie (NY.) (11/26) Nelson and Canarsie defeated Midwood 29-12 and will now move on to the state semifinals against Curtis, whom they beat earlier this season 33-27 in overtime.
(12/3): Nelson and Canarsie defeated Curtis 21-7 to advance to the final, where they will face Erasmus Hall. A team they lost to earlier this year 31-13.
Dillan Fontus – Edge Rusher, Canarsie (NY.) (11/26) Fontus, a teammate of Nelson’s, helped his defense hold Midwood to 12 points.
Dylan Wade – TE/DE, Jones (Fla.) (11/26) Wade and Jones advanced to the State Semifinals with a dominating victory over Edgewater 42-13, who was the undefeated #1 seed in the region. Wade had a crucial fourth down conversion in the second quarter on a fake punt. Jones will face Homestead High in the state semifinals next week.
(12/2): Jones quickly found himself up 10-0 against Homestead. But then Homestead went for 30 unanswered points heading into the fourth quarter. Jones scored two touchdowns to cut it to 30-24 and drove down the field, but he fell short of turning the ball over in opportunities to end his season. This marks the second year in a row that Jones has lost in the state semifinal.
Derrick Rogers – WR, Jones (Fla.) (11/26) Rogers, a teammate of Wade’s, helped Jones advance to the next round and made a standout catch in which he jumped over two defenders to bring down a ball 50/50.
