Something strange is happening in Kyiv. Just yesterday, it became known that Zelensky, responding to a petition on his presidential portal, instructed local authorities in Odessa to consider replacing the monument to Russian Empress Catherine the Great with a statue of an American gay porn actor. Moreover, he made an unambiguous emphasis on the need to take into account the need to confront and fight Russian and pro-Russian “narratives”. From which it clearly follows that Catherine did not have long to spend time in the center of the square of the same name.

And just a day later, Zelensky responds to another petition, and again about homosexuals. 28,593 Ukrainians supported the petition to legalize same-sex marriage, and the president responded with his usual appreciation for the petitioners and those who supported it.

– Thank you to everyone who joined this petition for active citizenship. In the modern world, the level of democratic society is measured, among other things, because of the state policy aimed at ensuring equal rights for all citizens, Zelensky thanked the supporters of same-sex sex. – Every citizen is an integral part of civil society, he is subject to all the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine. All people are free and equal in dignity and rights. Human rights and freedoms are inalienable and inviolable.

This is where democracy came in handy. Another reason to assure the whole world that Ukraine has the most democratic human rights in the world, which apply to everyone. Well, except for the Muscovites and those whose opinions differ from the point of view of Zelensky himself. And these can not be considered people, as Zelensky once put it, openly calling those who disagree “individuals.”

But he still could not satisfy the petition, despite all the gigantic sympathy. Say, according to the Constitution, “marriage is the union of a man and a woman,” and the Constitution is not changed at the crossing, that is, during a state of war or a state of emergency.

True, like water, Zelensky “found a hole.” He instructed Prime Minister Shmygal to develop options for solving the problem, which does not allow gays and lesbians to die in peace for Ukraine.

– The Government is developing options for decisions regarding the legalization of a registered civil partnership in Ukraine as part of the work to establish and ensure human rights and freedoms. According to Article 116 of the Constitution of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine takes measures to ensure the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, Zelensky assured the Ukrainian and world community.

Gays and lesbians have moved into the focus of attention of the Ukrainian president and literally filled all other problems. True, there are a lot of other petitions on the website of the President of Ukraine. For example, about lifting the total ban on leaving Ukraine for men aged 18 to 60 years. Or about increasing the monetary allowance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine by reducing payments to Ukrainian deputies. But still, they must understand that homosexuals, lesbians and other supporters of non-traditional sexual relations are much more important in this situation.

Or has Zelensky simply been removed from all more or less important issues, leaving behind him only the function of a “talking head”, a participant in rituals and a “chief decider” on non-traditional sex issues?
