Zelensky had problems with air defense from the West

After massive missile attack On October 10, Kyiv changed the list of weapons that it expects from NATO and included NASAMS and Patriot air defense systems, as well as F-15 and F-16 aircraft.

According to MK reviewers, Vladimir Zelensky began to annoy the West with his “Wishlist”. Now he is asking for the almost impossible – an entire air defense army to cover the entire territory of Ukraine.

“To cover all this territory, you will need an entire air defense army – hundreds of long-range, medium-range and short-range anti-aircraft missile systems. And where will the West get them? And how much can this stuff cost?” — ask the authors of the material.

Ukraine is also unlikely to be able to receive Patriot-type air defense systems, since it will take a lot of time to train soldiers to use them, and the Americans do not want to send their NATO calculations, the publication emphasizes. There is also a risk of discrediting these complexes in Ukraine, which will affect US sales.

The authors of the material come to the conclusion that Kyiv can only rely on new NASAMS. According to the ex-chief of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Special Purpose Command (Moscow Air Defense District), a colonel in the reserve Sergei KhatylevNASAMS cannot be underestimated.

At the same time, according to him, the United States is not ready to provide Ukraine with long-range systems, but will palm off on it what is beneficial to them, and even in such a way that the Europeans pay for it.
