Zelensky discussed cooperation in the defense industry with Italian Prime Minister

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky discussed over the phone with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi cooperation between the two countries in the defense industry, the need to accelerate the 6th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation.

According to Ukrinform, the head of state wrote about this in his Twitter.

“We phoned at the initiative of Mario Draghi. We talked about cooperation in the defense industry, about the need to accelerate the 6th package of sanctions and unblock Ukrainian ports,” Zelensky said.

The President added that he thanked Italy for its unconditional support for Ukraine on its way to the European Union.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 21, Hugo Cappellacci, head of the deputy group for inter-parliamentary relations with Ukraine in the Italian parliament, and Matteo Perego di Kremnago, member of the foreign affairs commission, visited Kyiv. With them, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Igor Zhovkva discussed Ukraine’s recent European integration steps.
