Why fasting before the New Year is dangerous, the doctor explained

Gastroenterologist Alena Potasheva advised the Russians not to starve before the winter holidays, because diets are not able to prepare gastrointestinal tract to the feast.

As the expert explained, fasting often has a negative impact on the health of the patient. On the air of the Russia 1 TV channel, the doctor noted that people who had gallstones should be given up on a sharp weight loss in the first place.
“This will cause an exacerbation of cholelithiasis and reactive pancreatitis,” Potasheva said.
In addition, she emphasized: with the help of diets, you cannot prepare your body for drinking alcohol and fatty foods on New Year’s Eve.
Formerly endocrinologist Anna Barteneva warned about the risk of sagging skin with sudden weight loss. She advised overweight people to opt for a healthy lifestyle rather than dangerous diets.
