Perhaps these tips will help those who have to go to the front.

Giving advice is a thankless task. There is always a temptation to print out a portion of the instructions and act strictly according to them. But when something does not go according to plan, a person may turn on the “Panic” mode. Instructions are good for Lego, but on the front, too much depends on your personal qualities.
Everything described below is rather an exchange of experience, recommendations based on what I learned for myself during the 7 months of the special operation.
SHOVEL – BEST FRIEND
I must say right away that psychologically, only a few are ready for what you will soon encounter. These are skills that cannot be acquired in preparatory courses – only through personal experience. Therefore, do not despair if at first something does not work out. This is fine. The main thing is to learn quickly.
Life may depend on it.
Tips for the mobilized
What should be learned first?
It’s right to be afraid. It will be terrible for everyone who gets to the front line, this should not be ashamed. Fear is generally a very useful feeling that helps to avoid a lot of trouble. The main thing is that he does not develop into a panic. Fear should motivate you to turn on the instinct of self-preservation.
Remember, not everything that explodes nearby will kill you. No need to rush headlong after the first gap in search of cover. Fall to the ground, so there are more chances to survive. The current conflict is a war of artillery. And the better you prepare to meet her, the more likely you are to return home.
95% of injuries during this special operation, according to statistics, are not from bullets, but from shrapnel.
If you are assigned to the first or second line, then you will have to live mainly in the ground. Therefore, you can leave dreams of tank breakthroughs and marksmanship from machine guns until better times. Your main friend in positional battles will be a shovel.
The deeper and better you dig into the ground, the safer you will wait out the artillery attacks. Yes, temporary inconvenience at collection points will be remembered with nostalgia.
The one who gets to the front line, the conditions are harsh. But even those who remain in the depths of the liberated territories must remember that any carelessness can cost lives.
AND TOMORROW HE WILL COVER YOUR BACK
Most likely you served in the army and imagine what a closed military team is. With demobilizations and “spirits”, with those who are stronger and who are smarter, with the brave and the cowardly. In an ordinary combat unit, the personnel, depending on their qualities and terms of service, were divided into groups and castes, taking their places in an unspoken hierarchy. Now, forget about it.
Now everyone around you is brothers in arms, regardless of the social status in the “civilian”, age and financial situation.
Combat coordination is not an empty phrase. You must learn not only to survive with them in battle, but also to live in everyday life. The fulfillment of any task by your group will depend on everyone together – as a single organism. There will be no time for disassembly and showdown. You have to get along with people, even if you don’t like someone. Perhaps it is he who will cover your back at the right moment.
What to take with you to the military registration and enlistment office: a list of things for the mobilized
Bulletproof vests and helmets will have to be issued to you. If you have the desire and financial capabilities, you can purchase them yourself before leaving for the war zone. The lighter the armor (and the higher the protection class), the more comfortable.
But it is important not to forget one thing.
Over time, a person’s sense of danger begins to dull, he can neglect the means of protection – it’s hard and uncomfortable. A false illusion of invulnerability is created. At this moment, your fragment flies into the chest.
I spoke with the major of the medical service of the 1st Panzer Army, who for several months had provided assistance on the “front end” near Izyum. And there the stream went to him without stopping. The main wounds are in the limbs, because the body armor and helmet take on the rest. If they are not removed even in the dugout, the chances of escaping with only a wound increase. Although, of course, this protection does not guarantee complete security.
It is also important to have a first aid kit with at least a minimum mandatory set. And know how to use it! This set should include:
– tourniquet or turnstile;
– scissors for cutting clothes;
– hemostatic dressings, sponges or powders – celox, hemoflex, etc.;
– dressing package, bondage;
– analgesic and antishock;
– dressings and preparations used for burns;
– occlusive dressing.
It is clear that no one in the pharmacy will sell you narcotic painkillers. If they give staff on the spot, fine. If not, get hold of the trophies as soon as possible.
In addition, it would be nice to have medicines “for every day.” From colds, coughs, antipyretics, broad-spectrum antibiotics, so that they can overcome a sore throat and prostatitis. And, of course, from poisoning – the stomach does not immediately get used to the harsh gastronomic everyday life.
Water, by the way, is better to drink only bottled or boiled. You can stock up on disinfectant tablets.
SMARTPHONE AND WARM PANTS
You can make a powerful “tactical” list with knee pads, armrests, active headphones and tactical glasses … But I roughly represent the average level of income of those called up from the reserve, so I will focus on the main thing on the eve of cold weather.
Of course, you will be given a set of winter uniforms. I would immediately consider a second set, depending on your budget. In the field, it wears out quickly.
Also worth taking with you:
– a rug on which you will sleep in the dugout;
– sleeping bag;
– balaclava and fleece hat;
– gloves, mittens;
– socks and shorts;
– thermal underwear – two sets, it is better not to save on it;
– bivouac linen – fleece;
– comfortable boots, preferably with a Gortex membrane and rubber boots, slippers (nobody canceled the army bath);
– soapy-ryl and microfiber towels;
– Camping set of dishes with cutlery;
– backpack of 60 liters.
You’ll probably get some of this. If funds allow, it would be useful to purchase:
– unloading or belt for shops;
– gas burner with cylinders;
– an electric dryer for shoes (you can, however, use women’s hygiene bags);
– external battery;
– an Android smartphone (not an iPhone, which Americans can easily track!) with downloaded Offline Maps and Maps Me applications with loaded maps of Ukraine.
Yes, it is said to take only push-button phones. But a smartphone is needed just in case for orientation in the area. It should not contain any photos or contacts. And keep in mind that all your telephone conversations are tapped by the enemy. And especially emotional ones are then published on social networks. By the way, you can not take your sim cards, they do not work there. The front line has no communications. Where it is, exclusively local operators. Not Ukrainian.
BY THE WAY
Will they give all this goodness to take with them
In social networks, they complained that at some collection points the things that the reservists brought with them were confiscated. Say, they are not put under the charter. Of course, no one is safe from especially zealous rear-guards on the ground. But in most cases, the luggage of the mobilized is not found fault with, unless, of course, it is alcohol. Based on the experience of the last 7 months, I can say that both volunteers and personnel units bring the necessary equipment without any problems. Or they are supplied by volunteers, whose cargoes are brought directly to the combat areas.
WHY AM I HERE
“What am I doing here? Why was I sent here?” – you will ask questions in moments of despondency. Around – destroyed houses, trees cut by fragments, a web of trenches, local residents, like shadows, moving along the street, which is covered every day with Hurricane cluster charges. Look at this city, village and imagine your native street. She can be like that. And your relatives will also walk along it, occasionally crawling out of the basements.
This is your land. It was like that before the referendum, but now it is also legal. You are not fighting against Ukraine. Zelensky and Bandera are against you, and the impudent collective West is doing everything so that the conflict goes according to a scenario in which, if Russia does not win, then it simply will not exist anymore.
If today you, all of us, do not stand against this NATO fist, tomorrow it will no longer crush Donbass, but Crimea, Belgorod, Kursk … They will not stop until they destroy your country, dividing it into dozens of their donor colonies. This is a new reality that is difficult to accept immediately, but it is pointless to deny.
