What should be a healthy breakfast, said nutritionist

In an interview with URA.RU, she noted that it is best not to start the first meal with simple carbohydrates. According to her, really hearty breakfasts consist of protein products (eggs, fish, chicken, meat) and fats (olive, coconut oil, ghee, avocados, nuts, olives).

“The formula for the healthiest breakfast is a protein-fat breakfast,” the expert said.

Efimova explained that seasonal vegetables or long-term carbohydrates, such as baked sweet potato, pumpkin, whole grain sourdough bread, quinoa, buckwheat, can be added to them. As the nutritionist emphasized, such breakfasts can prolong the feeling of satiety.

In addition, the specialist listed the options for the first meal:

  • Fried eggs with vegetables, avocados and nuts;
  • Chicken cutlets with fresh salad dressed with olive oil, as well as berries;
  • Any fish with avocado on whole grain toast;
  • Whole grain porridge with ghee, seeds, nuts, berries.
