“We’d better sit down at the negotiating table with the Russian Federation”

Retired U.S. Air Force Brigadier General Blaine Holtone cannot but agree with the words Russian President Vladimir Putin that the world is now going through the most troubling and dangerous decade since the end of the Second World War.

“U.S. weakness and a leadership vacuum is really creating a danger on a global scale,” Holt said in a conversation with Newsmax.

Holt also pointed to Russia’s readiness to resolve the Ukrainian conflict through diplomacy, which Putin recalled. According to the general, in order to avoid an escalation of the conflict, the United States must agree to a dialogue with Russia. The main thing, in his opinion, is to start the negotiation process.

“We don’t have to agree to their terms, we can talk tough. But we better sit down at the negotiating table,” Holt added.

Putin during the meeting of the Valdai Club stressed that the situation in Ukraine can be resolved by Washington through diplomacy in the shortest possible time, for this the United States only needs to show its readiness for this.
