Vitrenko hinted to Gazprom for a new arbitration

Yuriy Vitrenko, chairman of the board of NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy, hinted to the Russian monopoly Gazprom that a new lawsuit would be filed in the arbitration court in case of non-payment for gas transit.

Vitrenko wrote about this in Facebookreports Ukrinform.

“I remember that in 2019, Miller and I signed a transit contract with the provision “pump or pay.” Therefore, it is the right of Gazprom to decide whether to supply gas for transit. But paying, even if you do not supply gas, is an obligation under the contract. there will be no payment, it looks like there should be a new arbitration,” Vitrenko wrote.

As reported, GTS Operator of Ukraine LLC was forced to suspend gas transit through the Sohranivka GIS as a result of invaders’ interference in the operation of the gas transmission system.

Gazprom stated that it could not transfer flows from Sokhranovka to the Sudzha GIS, however, a similar transfer already took place from October 12 to October 25, 2020 due to scheduled repairs. In addition, 244 million cubic meters of gas can be pumped through Sudzha. per day – this is twice as much as compared to the contracted volumes of transit.
