the universe of Vikings is one of the favorites of the public today and, one of the biggest proofs is the successful spin-off that arrived on Netflix in 2022, Vikings: Valhalla. The plot takes place a century after the original story, at a time when three Nordic characters – Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter and Harald Sigurdsson – went through epic adventures in a context full of conflicts between themselves and the royalty of England. Vikings: Valhalla It doesn’t function as a sequel but, set 100 years after the original story, it establishes a different timeline in which a new set of characters come to life. Therefore, due to the passage of time, Ragnar Lothbrok, Rollo and Lagertha have given way to other Nordic men and women: Leif Erikson, Freydis Eiríksdóttir and Harald Sigurdsson.

As to Vikings, the series is inspired by Ragnar Lodbrok, a Norse hero known for being ruthless towards his enemies. At first, it shows the protagonist before leading his life as a warrior and dabbling in battles, until he became a famous Scandinavian king. The television universe is based on the Nordics of the Scandinavian high middle ages and the purpose is to capture their great deeds on the small screen, which changed the course of history.

A few hours before the second season of Vikings: Valhalla, The platform confirmed that this success will have a third installment. For now, there are no details of the development and production process of the continuation.
