Video of Russian troops shelling the Azovstal plant, where 100 civilians still remain

“Mariupol. Azovstal. In shelters, in addition to the military, there are at least 100 civilians. However, this does not reduce the density of attacks by the invaders. Heavy artillery and aviation continued shelling the plant all day long. Attempts to storm on the ground continue to be unsuccessful. Therefore, the city hears the cannonade again, ”wrote Andryushchenko.

In its turn Regiment of the National Guard “Azov” in his Telegram channel that over the past day, 34 sorties, including 8 flights of strategic bombers, were carried out by the invaders to the territory of the Azovstal plant, which is held by the defenders of Mariupol.

“Enemy ship and cannon artillery, MLRS, UR-77 (reactive demining installation – ed.), tanks and so on also do not stop working. The enemy does not stop trying to capture the Ukrainian fortress and continues to make daily assaults with the support of the infantry,” the message says.

As reported, on April 30, the evacuation of civilians hiding from hostilities in shelters on the territory of the Azovstal plant began. In the first group, 20 civilians were evacuated. On May 1, the second group was evacuated out of about 100 people. They are sent to the controlled territory of Ukraine. On May 2, the evacuation continued.

As of the morning of May 6, from Mariupol blocked by Russian troops and from the territory of the Azovstal plant during the evacuation with the participation of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross as a whole managed to withdraw about 500 civilians. The next phase of the operation continues.

May 7, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for the Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Irina Vereshchuk reportedthat all children, women and the elderly were evacuated from the Azovstal plant.

After the UN convoy left the Donetsk region, the Russian military began the assault on Azovstal.
