July 10 Chairman of the State Duma Viacheslav Volodin spent in his telegram channel poll: “Do you consider it necessary to introduce a ban on the promotion of non-traditional values?”. The post became one of the most popular and discussed in the political segment of this social network, gaining 3.6 million views, and 70% of respondents supported this initiative.
And now Volodin told journalists of the largest media, including KP.RU, about further progress on this issue:
“The State Duma plans to organize a public discussion of bills banning the propaganda of non-traditional values,” the speaker said.
Indeed, there are several bills – therefore, a thorough analysis of each is necessary.
“One bill on this topic has already been introduced by deputies Ostanina, Alimova, Lantratova, Burlyaev, Zhuravlev and Kornienko. Other initiatives are also being prepared: I know that the Chairman of the Information Policy Committee, Alexander Evseevich Khinshtein, has prepared bills that are now being approved by the Government,” Volodin said.
According to the Chairman, the plans are to organize a public discussion of these bills and come up for consideration during the autumn session.
“Given the position expressed by the majority of factions, there is confidence that the bills prohibiting the promotion of non-traditional values, as well as establishing responsibility for its dissemination, will be adopted,” Volodin summed up.
