“The US will announce steps to bolster European security along with expected large new indemnities from allies,” the statement said.
Kirby noted that for the first time, Indo-Pacific leaders from Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the Republic of Korea will attend the summit.
“It makes clear that ‘either in Europe or in the Indo-Pacific region, the United States and our allies and partners will defend the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity,'” Kirby said.
