US publishes updated list of sanctions against Russia

This is reported on site departments.

After OFAC imposed sanctions on the heads of Russia’s largest Sberbank of Russia on February 24, eight more names are added to the list – current and former members of the board. In addition, sanctions are being imposed against 27 members of the board of directors of Gazprombank, Russia’s third largest bank.

The list of restrictions also included the Moscow Industrial Bank, which has a state form of ownership and is actively involved in the financial activities of Russia, and ten of its subsidiaries. Among them are Agro-Industrial Complex Voronezhsky LLC, Anninsky Elevator LLC, Audconsult LLC, Belinveststroy LLC, Two Capitals LLC, Kontrakt LLC, Ladoga LLC, NPO Foundation Chemical Disarmament and conversion”, LLC “Azov Grain Company”, LLC “Exploitation Company “Center”.

Separate sanctions have been imposed against the Promtekhnologiya company, which produces rifles under the ORSIS trademark and other weapons and supplies its products to the military and special services of Russia. Promtekhnologiya has long been associated with the Russian government, the US Treasury Department noted.

There are also reports of sanctions against the three largest Russian TV channels – Channel One, Russia – 1 and NTV, which spread disinformation and acted in the interests of the Russian government.

The US Treasury also took additional measures to “cut off Russia’s access to certain key services of US companies that Russian elites and companies use to accumulate wealth, generate revenue for Putin’s war machine, and evade sanctions.”

The EU and US sanctions imposed against Russia because of the war in Ukraine have almost completely blocked the participation of Western technologies and companies in the development of the military-industrial complex of Russia, said a marine expert, editor-in-chief of BlackSeaNews Andrey Klimenko on air programs “A Question of National Security” with Valentina Samar (project Center for Investigative Journalism).

At 4 am on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a “special military operation” in the occupied Donbas. Russia launched missile strikes on Ukrainian territory and launched a direct full-scale invasion in four directions. The armed forces of Ukraine are rebuffing the enemy, the blitzkrieg plan – to capture Kyiv in two or three days – failed, the Russian army retreated from the capital. The Russian military commits thousands of war crimes and crimes against humanity throughout Ukraine.
