US accuses Russia of using Zaporozhye NPP as a “nuclear shield” | News from Germany about Ukraine | DW

The armed forces and units of the territorial defense of Ukraine resist aggression. President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky called the exit from the port of Odessa first ship with corn “the first positive signal that there is a chance to stop the unfolding of the food crisis in the world.” According to him, another 16 courts are already waiting for their turn. US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called Russia’s actions around Zaporozhye NPP “the height of irresponsibility”, accusing Moscow of using the station as a “nuclear shield”. According to him, Washington is “deeply concerned” that Russian troops have taken up positions in close proximity to Europe’s largest nuclear power plant and are opening fire on Ukrainian troops from there. “Of course, the Ukrainians cannot fire back without a terrible accident at a nuclear power plant,” the head of the US State Department said at a press conference in New York.
