Tennis players of the Ukrainian national team are contenders for the Heart Award in the Billie Jean King Cup.
This award is awarded since 2009, to those tennis players who represent their country in the team championship and at the same time are an example of courage on the court and devotion to their team.
In April, the Ukrainians played against the US team in the qualification of the Billie Jean King Cup team tournament and after the first day they lost with a total score of 0:2. Our tennis players were able to level the score in the confrontation, but were defeated in the decisive doubles match.
Among the contenders for the victory in the nomination from the participants of the Qualifiers stage were also Iga Swiatek (Poland), Jasmine Paolini (Italy) and Marketa Vondrousova (Czech Republic).
