Ukrainian generals watched how the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are trained in Britain

British-trained Ukrainian servicemen show results on the battlefield.

According to Ukrinform, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reports this in Facebook.

“A working visit was made by the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Yevhen Moysyuk, and the Commander of the Joint Forces of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Eduard Moskalev, to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. They got acquainted with the organization and conduct of military exercises of Ukrainian defenders, which is taking place as part of the training program for Ukrainian soldiers led by the United Kingdom,” the report says.

Moysyuk and Moskalev met with the Chief of Staff of the Field Army of the British Armed Forces, Major General Colin Weir. Ukrainian and British military commanders discussed the training of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, identified priorities and achievements obtained in the framework of military exercises.

“Help from Great Britain in training Ukrainian soldiers is extremely important for Ukraine. We value our friendship with the United Kingdom and thank them for what they are doing to ensure that Ukrainians resist the Russian aggressor. Ukrainian military personnel trained in the UK show results on the battlefield,” Moysyuk said.

Also, Ukrainian generals attended classes on combat training of Ukrainian units. In particular, they got acquainted with fire training, where military personnel master firing small arms and tactical training, where shooting skills as part of a unit and tactics of movement on the battlefield are practiced.

The exercises of Ukrainian military personnel are taking place according to a scenario specially prescribed by British specialists. All attention is focused on shooting and defensive actions, psychological restraint, correct actions to evacuate the wounded.

As noted, following the visit of the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, the parties made proposals, a vector for the development of future rotations of the Ukrainian military, and accents that should be paid maximum attention to in combat training.

As reported, the United Kingdom has offered to train up to 10,000 Ukrainian troops in combat skills to help them counter Russia on the battlefield.

The program is part of the United Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to support Ukraine in its fight against an unprovoked Russian invasion and currently amounts to over £2.3 billion in military aid and includes over 5,000 NLAW (Next Generation Light Anti-tank) light anti-tank weapons. and multiple launch rocket system M270.

Approximately 1,050 British troops will be deployed during the program, which will take place at Department of Defense facilities in the North West, South West and South East of the United Kingdom. Each course will last several weeks and will be conducted by units of the 11th Security Assistance Brigade.

The UK government has been quick to procure AKs for the training program, meaning Ukrainian soldiers will be able to train with the weapons they will use on the front lines.

The United Kingdom also provided clothing and equipment to support Ukrainian soldiers in their training and return to Ukraine.

The United Kingdom has a long history of supporting the Ukrainian military through Operation ORBITAL, during which 22,000 Ukrainians were trained between 2015 and 2022. The new program will build on this success and demonstrate the continued leadership of the United Kingdom in responding to Ukraine’s military demands as the war progresses.
