Ukraine will strengthen cooperation with the EU within the framework of the European Migration Network

Ukraine strengthens cooperation with the European Union in the field of migration and asylum – on Tuesday, an administrative agreement on cooperation between our country and the European Commission within the framework of the European Migration Network (EMN) was signed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

About this in Facebook Deputy Interior Minister Mary Hakobyan said, Ukrinform reports.

According to her, the interests of Ukraine in this cooperation will be represented by the State Migration Service of Ukraine.

“The next important step for the full integration of our state into the European space has been made,” Hakobyan noted.

She said that now, within the framework of administrative agreements, Ukraine will be able to quickly exchange information about the situation on issues migration and asylum, as well as access to up-to-date, objective, verified and comparative information generated by EMN on the situation of migration and asylum in Member States, taking into account confidentiality protocols.

Also, our country, within the framework of these administrative agreements, will be able, at the invitation of EMN, to participate as an observer in network meetings, studies, conferences, seminars, etc.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ukraine’s participation in these processes will make it possible to synchronize with the EU migration policy and help to focus in time on the processes and measures to overcome the migration crisis due to the war.

The Deputy Minister noted that the Ministry of Internal Affairs intends to establish long-term relations in order to manage migration flows even more effectively, especially in the context of a full-scale war on the territory of Ukraine.

She clarified that, according to the UN, 6 million 162 thousand Ukrainian refugees are officially registered throughout Europe.
