Ukrainian group Kalush Orchestra with the song “Stefania” reached the final Eurovision 2022 following the results of the first semi-final of the competition. It ended late in the evening in Turin on Tuesday 10 May. Representatives of 17 countries competed for 10 tickets to the final of the competition.
Among the other finalists: Rosa Lynn (Armenia), Amanda (Greece), Systur (Iceland), Monika Liu (Lithuania), Zdob si Zdub & Advahov Brothers (Moldova), S10 singer (Netherlands), Subwoolfer (Norway), singer Maro (Portugal) and Marius Bear (Switzerland).
Other Eurovision finalists
In the first semi-final in Turin, Russia was also supposed to perform. But this country was removed from participation in Eurovision after the attack on Ukraine. A year earlier, due to violation of the rules of the competition, membership in the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) of Belteleradiocompany was suspended, as a result of which Belarus cannot take part in Eurovision.
The second semi-final will take place on 12 May and the final on Saturday 14 May. Places in the final “Eurovision” reserved for the five largest donors of the EMU (the organizer of the competition): Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy and France. Italy would have been eligible to compete in the final also because the Italian group Maneskin won the last Eurovision Song Contest held in Rotterdam.
