In July 2022, Ukraine exported 3 million tons of grain and oilseeds through alternative routes.
Denis Marchuk, Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Agrarian Council, said this during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform Media Center.
“In June, we unloaded 2 million 200 thousand tons, and in July this figure reaches about 3 million tons of grain and oilseeds, which, in fact, demonstrates an improvement in the logistics direction,” he said.
Marchuk added that the growth in exports demonstrates the improvement in the throughput of river ports on the Danube, through which 1.3 million tons of agricultural products were exported in July. According to the expert, this is 3.7 times more than in previous months.
As reported, in early July, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine completed a military operation to clear Snake Island from equipment and weapons of Russian invaders who fled to the temporarily occupied Crimea. After the liberation of the island, the mouth of Bystroe became open to ships carrying agricultural products. According to experts, the liberation of Zmeiny Island and the deblockade of the Bystroye Estuary saves businesses at least half a million dollars a day.
