Ukraine agrees with Switzerland on consular services for Ukrainians in Russia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is negotiating with the Swiss Embassy in Russia on the provision of consular services in Russia to Ukrainians who have lost their documents.

Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said this during the telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I know that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is negotiating with the Swiss Embassy so that they provide consular services on the territory of the Russian Federation for our citizens who lost their documents because they were simply taken away by representatives of the Russian authorities,” he said.

According to Lubinets, the ombudsman’s office appeals to the Ukrainian courts in the interests of Ukrainian citizens to restore documents lost during the evacuation to Russia. In the future, they plan to transfer these documents to Ukrainians through the Swiss Embassy so that they leave Russia for Europe, Lubinets said.
