The general response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine has only strengthened relations between the United States and Italy
This was confirmed during a meeting in Washington by US President Joe Biden and Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi. White House press office.
“Italy and the United States have a long history of common ties,” the head of the White House said.
Biden stressed that Italy was one of America’s closest allies and had put in a lot of effort in response to Putin’s brutal war against Ukraine.
In turn, the head of the Italian government, Draghi, noted that in a critical situation, relations have become even closer.
“The ties between our countries have always been very strong. And, finally, the current war in Ukraine has made them stronger,” the Prime Minister said.
President Biden noted that he fully agrees with this.
As reported, the Prime Minister of Italy is on May 10 on a visit to Washington.
