Turkish banks no longer accept Mir cards – NTV

Turkish banks refused to use the Russian payment system “Mir”. This is reported NTV.

According to the TV channel, private and state banking organizations no longer accept the corresponding cards in Turkey.

“There are no banks left in the country that use the Mir system,” the material says.

It is noted that the decision to stop accepting Mir cards was made after a warning from the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury. The article also emphasizes that Washington has threatened to impose sanctions on Turkish financial institutions that continue to cooperate with the Russian Federation.

Earlier it was reported that relations between Ankara and Moscow in the field of trade and tourism will seriously deteriorate after Turkish banks refuse to use Mir cards. At the same time, there are no official comments from the Turkish leadership on this issue yet, writes the local newspaper Yenicağ.
