Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko congratulated the Kalush Orchestra group, which made it to the finals of the international Eurovision Song Contest 2022.
According to Ukrinform, the minister wrote about this in his Telegram.
“Ukraine made it to the Eurovision final. Congratulations to the Kalush Orchestra! The performance was very colorful and the Europeans liked it,” Tkachenko stressed.
According to him, it’s great that Ukrainian music finds more and more connoisseurs at the international level.
“Such competitions and such results contribute to the popularization of our culture abroad, which is extremely important today. After all, through culture we spread our meanings and narratives and once again draw the attention of the world to our originality and uniqueness. During the war – this is a significant element in confronting the enemy. Looking forward to the final of the competition. We keep our fingers crossed for the first place, we have every chance to get it,” Tkachenko emphasized.
As reported, on May 10, during the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, the representative of Ukraine – the Kalush Orchestra group – reached the final with the song Stefania. Spectators in the arena Pala Olimpico listened to the group, standing with Ukrainian flags, and greeted with thunderous applause.
