The macabre discovery of two charred bodies inside a truck in a property in the Buenos Aires town of Guernica, it happened this Sunday morning, when the owner and the caretaker of that field went to see what had caught fire on Saturday night. “They thought it was another car that they burned to collect the insurance, but when they arrived they found that there were two corpses in the back seat totally cremated”, they explained to infobae research sources.
It was immediate for the detectives in the case not to anchor this double homicide with the desperate search for Lucas Escalante (26) Y Lautaro Morello (18), of whom nothing is known since December 9 at night in the Quilmes district and whose car, a BMW, appeared set on fire in the Abasto area, in La Plata, the day after losing track of them. The disappearance of the two friends has baffled to the researchers.
The truth is that, in this context, the discovery of the charred bodies this Sunday occurred in a property located at the intersection of Néstor Kirchner Avenue and Route 16, in what is now known as Presidente Perón, in the southern zone. of the Buenos Aires suburbs, and triggered the alert.
“They have been taken there to be cremated”, released one of the sources of the investigation consulted by this means about the macabre discovery of this Sunday. She also explained that the bodies were inside a Citroen Berlingowho had an active kidnapping request from the La Matanza Oeste Police Station, 3rd in Villa Luzuriaga, and that the fire started from inside the vehicle.
“It is impossible to identify them with the naked eye, not even the sex could be determined. A forensic anthropologist who was on the scene said only the bones remained. So a DNA study It will be able to shed light on the case”, simplified another source consulted by this means. Meanwhile, and based on how the fire consumed the bodies, investigators have not been able to determine how they were killed.
What the sources consulted did highlight is that it was not easy for the murderers to reach the place where they discarded the car and the victims. “On Saturday there were several pickets in the area due to lack of electricity, so they had to overcome several neighborhood cuts to be able to discard and burn the van at night,” they explained. They also hinted that some security camera from the area could have caught the passage of the Berlingo and the other car that the murderers used to then escape from the place.

The cause is investigated as a double homicide by the prosecutor Alvaro Garganta, who -according to the sources consulted- immediately contacted the Quilmes authorities in charge of the search for Lautaro and Lucas. Both young men have been missing since Friday night.
After the triumph of the Argentine National Team against the Netherlands for the Quarterfinals of the World Cup in Qatar 2022 last Friday night, Lucas Escalante (26) went to look for his friend Lautaro Morello (18) by his house in the Villa Hudson neighborhood of Florencio Varela, aboard a blue BMW car.
The plan was to get out. “It is not very well known if they were going to dance or have a drink,” explained sources of the investigation consulted by infobae, but, from one moment to another, the young people stopped giving signs. According to the account of relatives and detectives, the last connection of the two to WhatsApp is from that same Friday at 10:30 p.m. Since then, both cell phones remain off.
The next day, both families decided to file the complaint at the 4th Forest Police Station, and it was in this context that the Buenos Aires Police found the BMW in which the two friends left Morello’s house. The vehicle was completely incinerated in the Abasto area, in La Platawhich caused further concern.
At the time of his disappearance, Lucas was wearing a black earring in his left ear. Also, he has tattoos on the left wrist and another on the entire right arm. Lautaro, for his part, uses a pierced on the left side of the nose.
The investigation into the whereabouts of the boys fell on the prosecutor Mariana Dongiovanni, head of UFI No. 2 of Florencio Varela, who in the next few hours will meet with the relatives of Lautaro and Lucas.
