The congresswoman of Democratic Peru, Nieves Limachi Quispebegan collecting signatures to file a motion to vacancy against the President of the Republic, Dina Boluartefor permanent moral incapacity due to the numerous deaths during the protests against his government.
Among the signatories of the document are left-wing parliamentarians such as Sigrid Bazan, Isabel Cortez, Ruth Luque, Guillermo Bermejo, among others. The proposal also bears the signature of the congresswoman Betsy Chavezformer prime minister of the government of Pedro Castillo.
“That our country is being bled dry by the terrible government management and of the law enforcement led by Mrs. Boluarte Zegarra, since to date there have already been 44 deaths as a result of the excessive use of weapons against the Peruvian people”, reads the text of the motion.
In his proposal, Limachi Quispe considers that the Congress of the republic“as the first power of the State”, has to “rise up” to the circumstances, to the defense of the democracyof the Rule of Law, but “mainly” to the defense of the life of the population.
“To the defense of personal integrity, and to order to punish the main culprits, as is the case of the President of Peruwho in the eyes of the world has shown not to have any iota of human sensitivity towards the peoples of our country,” he adds in the document.
