The international intelligence community InformNapalm believes that thermobaric weapons were probably used against Ukrainian prisoners in the temporarily occupied Olenivka, Donetsk region.
This is reported on Telegram channel community, Ukrinform reports.
“It was not a GMLRS missile. It was a thermobaric weapon. Russia arranged it and did it (as always) incompetently,” InformNapalm believes.
The investigators also stress that keeping prisoners of war so close to the front violates Article 19 of the Third Geneva Convention, making it a war crime.
“Olenovka is located about 15 km from the front line. There is no point in hitting a target so close with rare and expensive long-range GMLRS missiles when you can use 105-mm artillery shells, which cost about 0.4% of a GMLRS missile,” the statement says. message.
InformNapalm notes that Olenivka was a well-known “DPR” POW camp and concentration camp (and a penal colony for decades).
“You have to be a deceptive Russian troll or propagandist to believe that Ukraine will hit this target,” the investigators emphasize.
As Ukrinform reported, Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President’s Office, said that, according to pyrotechnical specialists who analyzed the Russian video from Olenivka, the picture looks more like an explosion of a substance with a high combustion temperature inside the building itself than the result of shelling.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, the killing of Ukrainian prisoners in the temporarily occupied Olenivka, Donetsk region, was carried out by mercenaries from the Wagner private military company.
About 50 captured Ukrainian defenders were killed.
