Against the backdrop of the failures plaguing the Biden administration, the United States nevertheless decided to bring to its logical conclusion the idea of a visit by Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan. After long and incomprehensible maneuvers, the plane with a third US person landed at Sunshan Airport in Taipei.

Seeing the tense situation in China, caused by the visit of an official of such a high rank to Taiwan, the US hastened to assure that they do not want to provoke a crisis between the island and China, and do not intend to show force.

– The US does not want and does not seek a crisis. We are ready to respond to whatever measures China decides to take. At the same time, we do not intend to engage in “saber-rattling,” said the White House National Security Council’s strategic communications coordinator. John Kirby.

In turn, China made it clear that despite the support of Taiwan by the United States, they do not at all exclude the use of force in resolving the island’s problem. Although, of course, diplomatic measures will be used first.

“The reason why we do not give up the possibility of a military solution is that we must contain the separatist potential so that it does not go too far,” said the head of the disarmament department of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. Fu Tsong.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China protested to US Ambassador Nicholas Burns in connection with visit to Taiwan Nancy Pelosi.

It is expected that Pelosi, who arrived in the capital of Taiwan, will hold a series of meetings with officials and visit the Taiwanese parliament.

There is no doubt that the visit of the speaker of the House of Representatives to Taiwan will significantly worsen Sino-American relations, since the Taiwan issue is perhaps the most sensitive issue in the dialogue between the powers and the United States, in their usual manner, they periodically press on this “sore point”, provoking separatist forces on the island with the promise of eventual support.

Pelosi herself said that her trip fits perfectly into the concept of relations between the United States and China.

It is noteworthy that even in the United States itself, there is no unequivocal understanding of the purpose of Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, except for the fact that this is a serious provocation arranged at a far from the best time for the United States.
