The US Navy has increased the grouping of ships in the North Atlantic because of Russia

January-April Pentagon deployed ships of the US Second Fleet to the North Atlantic due to worsening relations with Russia, reports business insider.

US Navy Fleet Commander Daniel Dwyer stated that this is the first time that the second fleet has increased its presence in Europe (not counting the exercise).

Dwyer said the move demonstrates that the United States is committed to protecting allies and partners in Europe.

The author of the article recalled that the second fleet controls the western Atlantic and acts as a maneuver unit for the US Navy in Europe and Africa.

Former head of the Naval Forces of the North Atlantic Alliance Keith Blount said that NATO is not going to be absent from the Black Sea for a long time.
