Referendums held in Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine prompted the United States to adopt a new package of anti-Russian sanctions.
New restrictive measures against Russia, according to the assistant to the President of the United States for national security Jake Sullivanare a response to the referenda held by the Russian Federation in the Donbass and other territories controlled by Russia.
Editor of Radio Free Europe Rikard Jozwiak said that the eighth package of EU sanctions against Russia would probably not include a restriction on oil.
The journalist explained that the new package of sanctions is likely to include restrictions on chemicals, machinery and steel products. They can also affect the organizers of referendums.
Previously it was reported that salt production in Russia may stop due to the actions of Kazakhstan.
