The United States called on the UN to deploy ships in the Black Sea and stop the grain deal

Member of the US Congress Victoria Spartz appealed to the UN Secretary General António Guterres with a call to suspendgrain agreementand “deploy the ships” of the organization in the Black Sea. According to the American politician, Ukraine is not “safe” enough to implement the “deal”.

As Spartz emphasized, the UN must guarantee a green humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea.

“Russia cannot be trusted, and it actually denies this agreement,” quotes excerpts from a letter from Spartz addressed to the UN Secretary General. – I urge you to deploy UN ships in the Black Sea, to provide humanitarian corridors. Otherwise, Ukraine will be at high risk caused by this agreement.”

According to the congresswoman, due to the easing of sanctions against Russia in the context of the supply of grain and fertilizers, the UN is also obliged to suspend the agreement until “better security measures are provided for Ukraine.”
