The Ukrainian national team is predicted to leave the EuroBasket 2022 group

A month before the start of the European Basketball Championship among national men’s teams, the FIBA website published the strength rating of the EuroBasket 2022 teams.

Team Ukraine in this list goes to 19th position out of 24 teams, Ukrinform reports.

“Ukraine will be a team not to be taken lightly by the opponents in Group C in Milan. Recently, Ukrainian basketball players scared Spain very much during a qualifying match for the World Cup. They made it to the 1/8 finals at the last EuroBasket in 2017, where they lost to the future champions from Slovenia. Svyatoslav Mikhailyuk was one of the team’s best players last month and it’s an underrated team that can make a splash.

It is worth noting that the rivals of the Ainars Bagatskis team in the group – Estonia and Great Britain – are lower in the rating, therefore, according to FIBA forecasts, the Ukrainian team should go to the playoffs.

Group C rating:

23rd place ranking – Estonia

20 – UK

19 – Ukraine

11 – Croatia

8 – Italy

3 – Greece.

Among the three favorites of the European Championship – the Greek national team, in which Giannis Antetokounmpo should become a striking force. France, which is seen by many as the main favorite, is the second, and the authors of the rating gave the first place to the reigning European champions, the Slovenians, for whom Luka Doncic will play, and possibly Goran Dragic, who, despite the decision to end his career in the national team, is on the preliminary list of the team .

Top 8 rating:

8 – Italy

7 – Turkey

6 – Spain

5 – Lithuania

4 – Serbia

3 – Greece

2 – France

1 – Slovenia.
