In the temporarily occupied Crimea, 81 victims of political persecution were sentenced to imprisonment. The terms totaled 1002 years and 2 months
According to Ukrinform, this is reported by CrimeaSOS with reference to analyst Yevgeny Yaroshenko.
“81 people were sentenced to real prison terms. The total duration of their punishment is 1002 years and 2 months. However, this figure is growing every month after the next sentences to political prisoners,” Yaroshenko said.
Judges handed out the longest terms to political prisoners: Roman Saprunov – 215 years, Rizvan Zubairov – 110 years, Alexander Generalov – 92 years, Oleg Volkov – 88 years, Roman Plisko – 85 years. All five judges work in the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don.
“It is the judges of the Southern District Military Court of Rostov-on-Don who pass the strictest terms of imprisonment – the sentences reach 19 years in prison,” Yaroshenko said.
As Ukrinform reported, CrimeaSOS created a register of 42 judges who passed sentences on 90 victims of political persecution in Crimea and heard cases of another 50 in court.
