President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to convene a meeting in the near future with the participation of representatives of the government and parliament on a further roadmap for Ukraine’s movement towards membership in the European Union.
Deputy Head of the Office of the President Igor Zhovkva said this on the air of an information marathon on a number of UArazom TV channels, Ukrinform reports.
“Literally in the near future, the President of Ukraine will convene a meeting with the participation of the government of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada, where he will clearly set the task, both on the roadmap for the implementation of the seven recommendations that the European Commission provided us, and on other tasks on the way to membership,” he noted.
Zhovkva stressed that the countdown to Ukraine’s membership in EUthere is hard work ahead, but every step is scheduled and Ukraine will work on the implementation of all tasks every day.
“All steps are known. Even the seven recommendations provided by the European Commission are nothing new. You will not find any new reform or any new super-task there, just as you will not find a single recommendation where Ukraine would be at zero,” said the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office.
As reported, the heads of state and government of the European Union on Thursday decided to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate country for joining the EU.
