Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Pavel Yablonsky announced that Warsaw opposes the discussion by the European Union security guarantees For Russia. The diplomat spoke about this in Brussels at a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
The politician called discussions of “this type” a strategic mistake. In his opinion, it is not the Russian Federation that needs security guarantees today, but Europe needs security guarantees from Russia. It was in this context that he urged his colleagues to discuss the situation.
“It’s very important not to let yourself be drawn into arguments that Ukraine supposedly should give up part of its territory. Or that Russia has the right to expect security guarantees,” Yablonsky said.
Earlier, French President Macron said that the future European security architecture should include security guarantees for Russia.
