The mayor of Melitopol, Ivan Fedorov, recalled the criminal liability for cooperation with the military of the Russian Federation, and asks to inform about collaborators.
He wrote about this in Telegramreports Ukrinform.
“Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine “Collaboration activities” applies to both those who hold a pseudo-referendum and those who help organize it. Therefore, elders and quarters who will go to the houses of Melitopol residents with the so-called opinion poll regarding the future pseudo-referendum will also prosecuted,” the mayor said.
Fedorov added that the names of the people who sided with the occupiers are already known and their data has been transferred to the SBU. The special services are investigating their involvement in compiling the lists.
“I appeal to all residents of Melitopol with a request to inform about the elders at home and the quarters who conduct a “sociological survey”. You can inform about collaborators by e-mail [email protected],” the message says.
For assistance in organizing a pseudo-referendum of the occupiers, real criminal liability is provided: up to 12 years in prison with possible confiscation of property.
As reported, the invaders are preparing to hold a pseudo-referendum in September.
