The leaders of France and China discussed the need for a ceasefire in Ukraine
French President Emmanuel Macron and Chinese President Xi Jinping discussed the situation in Ukraine and a number of other issues in a telephone conversation.

The heads of the two states recalled their commitment to respecting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and agreed on the need to achieve a ceasefire.
Both leaders also stressed the need to support all efforts aimed at providing humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine.
In addition, the risk of a food crisis and the response to it proposed by France in the form of the FARM initiative (Mission for Food and Agriculture Resilience) were discussed.

The North Korean crisis was also discussed in order to coordinate the efforts of both countries.
